Privacy-First Cookie Framework
Satkosh uses only essential and functional browser tokens required for authentication, CSRF security, and basic session preferences. We do not deploy third-party advertising cookies, data broker pixels, or cross-site retargeting beacons.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are compact text files placed on your browser when visiting a website. Local storage operates similarly, allowing modern web applications to store basic user preferences (such as dark/light display modes or cookie acknowledgments) directly within your browser without transmitting them over network headers on every page request.
2. Comprehensive Cookie & Local Storage Inventory
The following table lists all cookies and storage tokens utilized across our website and management console:
| Token / Cookie Name | Category | Storage Type | Purpose & Lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
satkosh_session | Strictly Necessary | HTTP Cookie (Secure) | Maintains your authenticated session when accessing console.satkosh.com. Expires upon logout or session termination. |
satkosh_csrf | Security | HTTP Cookie (Secure) | Cryptographic token defending against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks during console administrative actions. |
satkosh_cookie_consent | Functional | localStorage | Remembers that you have acknowledged our privacy and cookie notification so the prompt does not reappear on return visits (1 year). |
satkosh_theme | Functional | localStorage | Persists your visual interface theme selection (e.g. system, light, or dark mode) inside the backup management dashboard. |
_ga, _ga_* | Performance / Analytics | HTTP Cookie | Used to measure aggregate visitor metrics and identify broken documentation links. IP addresses are anonymized and data is never shared for advertising profiling (up to 2 years). |
3. Privacy-Respecting Web Analytics
We configure our aggregate web analytics with strict privacy protections:
- IP Anonymization: IP addresses are masked before processing and storage.
- Zero Ad Sharing: Commercial ad-sharing and Google Signals demographic retargeting are permanently disabled.
- Opt-Out Availability: You can opt out of aggregate analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. How to Manage or Disable Cookies
You can inspect, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser's security settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection → Cookies.
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Note: Disabling strictly necessary session cookies will prevent successful authentication and management operations within the Satkosh Cloud Backup console.
5. Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may periodically update this Cookie Policy to reflect new platform capabilities or regulatory requirements. Any revisions will be posted here with an updated version and timestamp.
